- Delivery of Training to the Organisation
Nathan was responsible for the development and delivery of training to business analysts within the organisation. He was responsible for the delivery of quality training to business analysts in both Canberra and Melbourne to ensure that processes and procedures are followed. The training provided was based on the organisations specific needs in the delivery of both system and organisational requirements and extended to the delivery of training in a variety of applications including the Object Oriented Modelling Tool "Enterprise Architect" and the Service Delivery tool "Unicenter Service Desk".

- Business Analyst – Job Performance and Training Needs Analysis
Undertook a Job Performance and Training Needs Analysis of the Business Analyst profession. Designed and developed a Training Needs Analysis document which addresses the core fundamental competencies of a Business Analyst which will be used to develop a Business Analyst training course. Developed and delivered Business Analyst training material based on both the Job Performance and Training Needs Analysis of the Business Analyst profession. Training material consisted of both Business Analyst training manual, assessment content to be delivered to groups and individuals as well as presentation content to support the delivery of training.
DEPARTMENT OF IMMIGRATION, MIGRATION AND INDIGENOUS AFFAIRS (DIMIA)
- Identity Services Repository Application e-Learning project
Working as a Business Analyst to design and develop e-Learning training material based on the Training Needs Analysis which was conducted by Apis Consulting Group for the Biometrics and Identity Section. During the project, Nathan was required to develop a flexible e-Learning solution that could be delivered to DIMIA staff on a National and International basis. The solution revolved around the utilisation of the Skillsoft™ e-Learning tool to provide an interactive training solution that could be delivered utilising the DIMIA infrastructure and current contractual agreement with Skillsoft™. Nathan’s work within the project included the design and development of the Identity Services Repository applications storyboards which was to be interpreted and developed by the Skillsoft™ development team.

Department of Immigration, Migration and Indigenous Affairs (DIMIA)
- Business Information Needs Review
Working as a Project Officer/Liaison and Business Analyst to ensure that project schedules accurately reflected the Business Information Needs Review. During the project responsibilities included the management of three DIMIA employees, allocation of resources for the project and coordinate of these allocations on an ongoing basis. This allocation ensured that tasks and milestones were delivered on time and within project budget. Other areas of responsibility were the analysis of DIMIA’s information needs via the use of facilitated workshops, state visits and various interviews to determine department information needs to be able to report and develop a roadmap for future organisational projects. Additional business analysis tasks included the recording of this information and mapping the captured work processes into the departments modelling tool “System Architect” via Business Process Modelling Notation (BPMN). The project schedule, resource allocation and coordination was monitored and directed through the use of Microsoft Project which provided the necessary reporting features to ensure that the DIMIA executives were kept up-to-date during the regular weekly status reports.

- Organisational Change Management Assurance
Senior Consultant responsible for the assessment of the client to determine change readiness and assist in identifying gaps in the projects change management methodology. Conducting regular independent assurance interviews to determine concerns and/or areas that may require assistance to meet deadlines. Other areas of responsibility included the analysis of independent assurance interviews and presenting the findings to management on a monthly basis. Working with the client to develop methodology for both Organisational Change Management and communications, both internal and external. Working in a consultative role to review architectural design of a large portal project.

- Application Development Environment
Analysis and design of a complex government to business portal application using object orientated methodology. Design and implementation of development standards to be applied for the duration of the project. Gathering of requirements for stakeholders via stakeholder engagement workshops. Development of system documentation including detailed business requirements, user specification and business process modelling. Responsible for mentoring staff in web development and business analysis techniques. Working in conjunction with project manager to develop and communicate project methodology.
- Application Maintenance Environment
Working in a maintenance role to ensure legislative changes were made to web based applications within determined time frames. Analysis of detailed business requirements to assist in the development of User Specification. Responsible for the delivery of system enhancements using available technical resources through facilitated discussions with programmers.
DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND AGEING
- Systems Testing Environment
Working to ensure quality assurance of the departmental mainframe applications prior to production implementation. Responsible for the reporting of system queries and escalation to the relevant teams to be fixed. Other responsibilities included the development of information management documentation to report testing progress to management. Required to work to tenacious and immutable deadlines to ensure that test cycle is completed within the pre-defined project management timelines.
Responsible for the management of enquiries of an online helpdesk to ensure that enquiries were prioritised and allocated to the appropriate support level. Working on the delivery of a strategic solution to resolve problems. Responsible for the compilation and delivery management information to management regarding problem resolution time, outstanding queries, average handling time take to resolve queries
